Our Recap of the 2025 IBS Show

The 2025 International Builders' Show (IBS) in Las Vegas was an unforgettable experience for our team! Throughout 2024, we ran a challenge where individuals had the opportunity to qualify for an all-expenses-paid trip to this premier industry event. Those who earned their spot were treated to 3 days filled with educational seminars, the latest trends, valuable vendor connections, and, of course, plenty of fun and camaraderie.

To highlight what we learned, we’ve broken our takeaways into key categories:

Repetitional Trends Throughout the Conference

One of the most exciting aspects of IBS each year is identifying emerging design trends. In 2025, we noticed a strong repetition of certain aesthetics across the show floor, including:

  • Reeded and fluted detailing – From cabinetry to wall panels, this textural element is making a strong statement.

  • Raised and curved corners – Softening the rigidity of traditional designs, this trend creates a more inviting space.

  • Checkerboard patterns – A timeless yet refreshed look appearing in flooring, tile work, and even textiles.

  • Milky white glass fixtures – A subtle yet striking way to diffuse light and add elegance.

  • Natural palettes & raw materials – The use of wood, stone, and unaltered organic materials continues to dominate.

  • Arches! – Whether in entryways, mirrors, or built-ins,arches are here to stay.

  • Organic shapes vs. rigid spaces – Designs are embracing fluidity over harsh lines.

  • Layered and purposeful lighting – Function meets beauty through well-planned lighting schemes.

  • Bringing the outdoors in & the indoors out (biophilia) – Large windows, green walls, and natural elements are bridging the gap between indoor and outdoor living spaces.

The Value of Our Close Collaboration with Clients and Builders

A key takeaway from multiple educational sessions was just how unique our approach is when it comes to working alongside clients and builders. We’ve always prioritized close collaboration, ensuring that our designs align seamlessly with the needs of homeowners and the construction process. What stood out to us at IBS 2025 is that this level of teamwork isn’t always the norm across the industry. Recognizing the importance of our strong relationships reaffirmed just how valuable this approach is for both our clients and our success as residential drafters.

House of Colour x Café – A Must-See Booth

One of the most talked-about exhibits at the show was the House of Colour x Café booth. This innovative concept showcased four kitchen designs, each inspired by a different seasonal color palette. Attendees were even treated to personalized color analysis sessions, helping them discover which hues best complement their aesthetic preferences. This unique fusion of color theory and kitchen design provided a fresh perspective on how color can impact our homes and overall well-being.

Final Thoughts

IBS 2025 was an incredible opportunity for our team to learn, grow, and connect. From cutting-edge design trends to reaffirming the importance of collaboration in our industry, the experience left us inspired and ready to bring new ideas to our projects. We’re grateful for the chance to attend!
